PURPOSE:To prevent generation of rust and consequent delamination of pad material by giving the hole-provided part (mold part) and plate part of pad material a constant hardness (density) and thereby preventing water penetration from the mold part. CONSTITUTION:A preliminary molding 6 in double layer construction consisting of a semimetallic friction layer 1 and heat insulation layer 2 is made into a complex with a backing metal 3 by means of hot press, and tablets made of the same material as the heat insulation layer 2 or any other are set into the hole- provided part of this backing metal 3. Raised density of the heat insulation layer at its hole-provided part (mold part) as described above will prevent water intrusion from this part to give prevention against generation of rust. Consequently the friction material layer is prevented from delamination at the interface with the heat insulation layer. |
