摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of preventing the breakage and deterioration of an electron emission element and a phosphor screen by restraining a discharge current in discharging even if the discharging occurs. SOLUTION: The vacuum envelope 10 of this display device has a back substrate 12 and a front substrate 11 oppositely disposed, and side walls 18 installed between the back substrate and the front substrate. The phosphor screen 16 is formed on the inside surface of the front substrate, and the multiple electron emission elements 22 for emitting electrons to the phosphor screen are formed on the inside surface of the back substrate. A reinforcing glass panel 32 is disposed oppositely to the outside surface of the front substrate, a resistance layer 30 is installed between the reinforcing glass panel and the front substrate. The resistance layer has a sheet resistor of 10Ω/(square) or above, and is set to an anode potential.
