PURPOSE: A backlight is provided to connect a plurality of fluorescent lamps to a single power supply by the parallel connection and simplify the insertion of the fluorescent lamps, wherein the non-light emitting area of the backlight panel is reduced by using a mirror type reflection surface mounted to a connector surface. CONSTITUTION: A backlight includes a diffusion plate, lamp inserting holes(11) formed by a uniform interval for inserting fluorescent lamps, lamp inserting hole electrodes(15) disposed in the insertion holes and connected to electrodes of the fluorescent lamps, electrode connecting lines(16) for connecting the lamp inserting hole electrodes, connecting elements(10) formed at a lower surface in the shape of triangular grooves, the fluorescent lamps(13) inserted into the lamp insertion holes of the connecting elements, and a reflection plate disposed at a lower part of the connection elements for surrounding the connection elements and having reflection surfaces formed at edge parts by the same height with the connection elements, and triangular dies coupled in the triangular grooves of the connecting elements.
