It is possible to indicate fire at an early stage by means of an alarm device in which a melting solder, shaped as a wire and acting as detector, is installed as wire loop on and/or in the area of the building which is at risk and is connected to the wiring system of the entire device. When the wire loop is severed due to heat loading occurring in the form of a fire which starts, the wiring system or, respectively, the circuit is interrupted and the alarm is triggered. It is in this case advantageous that the wire can be installed without any problems also on the outer skin of a building where it is fully active when the fire starts, even when wind or other influences are present. It can also be imagined that the wire loop is used as a wiring system, a closed-circuit current being applied to this wiring system so that, when the wire loop is severed, the alarm can be triggered, the wire having a favourable effect on the severing due to its design as a hollow wire and the integrated fluxing agent. <IMAGE>
