The invention consists of a fluorescent screen which, for a given brightness compared with a screen according to the prior technology, offers lower reflectivity and hence higher contrast. The screen EC comprises a luminophore layer L on the inside IN of the tube, and a glass plate DV on the outside EX of the tube. It is characterised in that it comprises an intermediate layer CI situated between the luminophore layer L and the glass plate DV and including at least one metal layer M.
