<p>PURPOSE:To control the lateral resistance quantity by forming a transport roller for transporting a copying paper in shiftable manner in the axial direction to an image carrier and controlling the shift quantity in the axial direction of the transport roller on the basis of the detection signal of a sensor for detecting at least one side edge part of a paper. CONSTITUTION:As for an image forming device which can longitudinally transport a paper having an LT size (width of 216mm), the paper side edge detecting sensors 13 and 13' are arranged so as to detect the paper side edge at the position separated by 108mm from the center in the width direction with respect to the paper transport direction. During the time when a paper 1 is transported by a pair of transport rollers 2 and 2', and the top edge of the paper 1 reaches an image carrier 3, a pair of transport rollers 2 and 2' are shifted in the axis directions B and B' by the drive of a motor 11, and when the side edge of the paper 1 is detected by a side edge detecting sensor, e.g., the sensor 13 on the left side on the figure, the motor 11 is stopped, and the position relation in the lateral direction of the image carrier 3 for an image 4 is adjusted. Therefore, the lateral resistance control is permitted, with high precision.</p> |
