PURPOSE:To detect the errors existing in the track direction and the errors produced by the contiguous crosstalks by detecting a code out of a reproduction signal at reproduction and comparing this reproduction signal with a produced random pulse pattern. CONSTITUTION:The random pulse data RPD1-RPDn consisting of (n) types of different pseudo random pulse patterns are recorded on 32 tracks T1 and T2 which are contiguous to each other on a recording medium 1. At the same time, the synchronizing pattern data SPD1-SPDn consisting of the prescribed synchronizing signals and the codes specifying those random pulse data RPD1- RPDn are recorded at the head parts of these data respectively. Then the synchronizing pattern data SPD1-SPDn are detected out of the reproduction signals and the original random pulse data RPD1-RPDn produced in response to be detected pattern data. These produced data are compared with the data on the reproduction data in the same timing. Thus the data errors can be detected. Thus it is possible to detect the data errors existing in the track direction and the data errors caused by the contiguous crosstalks. |
