PURPOSE:To obtain a rumen by-passing agent for ruminant effective in protecting a physiologically active substance in the rumen and efficiently dissolving the substance in the abomasum by coating a physiologically active substance with a coating agent containing a protein soluble within a specific pH range. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent is prepared by coating a physiologically active substance with a coating agent containing preferably >=5wt.% of a protein soluble at pH of <=3 (e.g. gluten or prolamin) and essentially free from a substance decomposing in the rumen. The amounts of the physiologically active substance and the coating agent are 10-95wt.% and 5-90wt.%, preferably 40-80wt.% and 20-60wt.%, respectively, and the other components may be properly compounded to the agent. |
