PURPOSE:To enable a paper to be raised to a delivery level in a short time, by a method wherein an elevating table is moved through detection of the position of the uppermost paper of papers piled up on the elevating table located to a lift up mechanism additionally used for a reduction gear and the thickness of the papers by means of their respective sensors. CONSTITUTION:After papers M on a placing table 31 are positioned by means of a caul 34, the plate 31 is secured to an elevating table 1, and the table 1 is raised through high speed rotation of a motor. When the uppermost paper M is raised to a level L1 slightly lower than a delivery level L2 of a paper delivery device B, a sensor 29 detects, a motor is changed over to the low number of revolutions, and the table 1 is raised at a low speed. When the uppermost paper is raised to a level a distance equal to one or two complete sheets lower than the level L2, a weight pin 11b of the device B is slightly raised up to bring a sensor 30 into an ON state, the paper is raised to the level L2 through low speed rotation of the motor, and the sensor 30 is brought into an OFF state to bring the motor into a stop. Further, the table 1 is raised by a distance equal to the thickness of the papers, delivered by the device B, through ON of the sensor 30. |
