Novel 1,4-naphthalenediol and 1,4-hydroquinone derivatives of formula I, II, III and IV and their therapeutic uses as 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors, leukotriene inhibitors, antiinflammatory and/or inhibitors of mucus secretion agents are described.
