The invention relates to a device for cleaning surfaces by the removal of material adhering thereto. According to the invention, the device comprises a multilayer electromagnetic coil 1, a source of pulsed current 3, a paramagnetic plate 4 positioned between a surface 5 to be cleaned and the front face of the coil 1; the number n of layers 8 of the coil is from 2 to 5; each layer 8 is in the shape of a spiral of rectangular-sectioned conducting bar 7; the layers 8 are arranged in parallel planes and are connected together in similar ways. The invention applies particularly to the cleaning of the walls of hoppers, dryers, cyclones, pipes and other such equipment. <IMAGE>
