The present invention relates to a system for guiding a passive missile by alignment, and a missile guided by such a system. The guidance system comprises an illuminating radar emitting two signals, a frequency-modulated fixed frequency signal F1 and a variable frequency signal F2, such that F1-F2 is a periodic function of time with an angular frequency omega equal to the speed of rotation of the lobe of the emission antenna. Two processing circuits 81 and 82 on board the missile extract two items of information theta and psi , these being characteristic of the position of the radar-missile axis in relation to the axis of the emission antenna and contained in the emitted signals F1 and F2. The present invention is principally applicable to low-cost missiles, such as anti-tank missiles. <IMAGE>
