PURPOSE:To obtain the title oil which has low viscosity and excellent lubricity, gives an excellent surface quality after rolling, and is useful for rolling low- carbon steel and a material difficult to roll by incorporating specified ingredients each in a specified amount into a base oil comprising a low-molecular-weight alcohol ester of a fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:A base oil comprising a low-molecular-weight alcohol ester of a fatty acid (e.g., methyl stearate) is mixed with 1-5wt.% high-molecular- weight alcohol ester of a fatty acid (A) (e.g., isoceryl behenate), 3-15wt.% polymeric fatty acid ester (B) (e.g., stearyl ester of 36C dimer acid), 1-8wt.% polymeric fatty acid (C) (e.g., 36C dimer acid), 1-15wt.% snccinic acid derivative (D) substituted by a 50C or higher hydrocarbon group (e.g., 58C polybutene succinate), and 0.1-1wt.% 16-26C 9-hydroxyphenylcarboxylic acid (E) (e.g., 9- hydroxyphenylstearic acid so that the weight ratios of A to B, C to D, and C to E are respectively 1:(1 to 6), 1:(1 to 3), and 10:(1 to 2) and the viscosity is 4-15cSt (50 deg.C). |
