The invention relates to a device for the lateral securing of floor panels of a false floor, supported on a subfloor, with supports which absorb the weight of the floor panels and exhibit a supporting foot and a supporting head and retaining elements which can be fastened on said supporting head. The object of the invention is to propose such a device, by means of which the lateral securing of floor elements can be effected with a reduced degree of assembly outlay. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the surface of each supporting head exhibits a slot which runs transversely with respect to the vertical axis of the supporting prop and into which a retaining element is plugged.
