Method and apparatus for producing grooved plate-like shaped parts from wood

In the case of a method and apparatus for producing plate-like shaped parts from wooden boards, wherein the visible faces receive parallel milled grooves and the grooves are filled with a filling compound, the plate-like shaped parts being cut out from a larger wooden board using a template or the like, a groove course following traditional lines is achieved with simple means by producing the grooves before or after, or partly before and partly after, the shaped parts have been cut out and by using a freely guidable router with an end-milling cutter. In order to mill a reveal groove, the end-milling cutter is guided by means of a first parallel stop of the router parallel to at least one first outer edge of the cut-out shaped part or parts to be cut out. In this case, the first parallel stop lies either against the cut face of the first outer edge or against a stop rail arranged above the visible face of the shaped part. In order to mill internal grooves, the end-milling cutter is guided by means of a second parallel stop in each case parallel to the first outer edge of the shaped part, the parallel stop lying against the first outer edge or in a groove which has already been milled.
