PURPOSE:To secure stable joining strength extending over the entire area in a lateral direction by opening an unjoined part between clad material and base metal in a V-shape and scanning reciprocally and heating the vicinity of a joining part in the direction of plate thickness under specific conditions by a high energy density beam and then, cladding the same by rolling. CONSTITUTION:The clad material 2 is superposed on the top of the base metal 1 and rolled in the vertical direction by a rolling roll 3, while the clad material 2 is opened in a V-shape upward with respect to the base metal 1 at the inlet side. The high energy density beam is emitted toward the joining part between the base metal 1 and the clad material 2 from the opening side. After the faces in opposition in the vicinity of the joining part is heated equally, the beam scanning speed, beam energy density and rolling speed are set so as to satisfy T<=0.1S, v<=(l)/T(mm/S) wherein T, v, and (l) are the scanning time (S) from one sheet end to the other sheet end, the rolling speed (mm/S) and the heating length (mm) in the rolling direction in the vicinity of the joining part by the beam, respectively. |
