The invention relates to a support and transfer module 10 suitable for the construction of a printing machine. According to the invention, this support and transfer module 10 comprises, side by side on the same frame 11 with which any working module can be associated by means of a positioning interface 12, on the one hand support means 14 capable of supporting, in line with such a working module, any article to be processed, and, on the other hand, transfer means 16 capable of extracting such an article from the support and transfer module 10 located upstream and of bringing it into line with the said support means 14.
