PURPOSE:To realize excellent shelf life and reduction of deterioration on reproducing by incorporating specific compounds into at least one layer among a primer layer, protective layer and recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The compound expressed by formula I is incorporated into at least one of the primer layer, protective layer and recording layer of the optical recording medium. In formula I, R represents hydrogen, halogens, substituted or nonsubstituted alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, dialkoxy groups or acyl groups, M represents Ni, Pt, Pd, Co or Cu, (n) is 0 or 1, (l) is an integer from 0 to 4 and X represents a cation. The benzen ring may be replaced by a fused ring with other aromatic rings. Thereby, the medium can be used for recording and reproducing by light of long wavelength such as semiconductor laser light. The medium can be improved in thermal stability and optical stability, and shows excellent shelf life and less deterioration on reproducing. |
