PURPOSE:To generate the other outline font data than that being stored with a small memory capacity by storing outline font data including basic outline data for characters and symbols from an arbitrary output device and correction data for intrinsic outlines different from the basic ones. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU 21 serving as first and second developing means and also a correction means develops the dot image of characters and symbols to a RAM 24 serving as a bit map memory correspondingly to an output device 13 by referring to basic outline data and correction data stored in a font data ROM 23 as a font memory, the CPU 21 arithmetically corrects the basic outline data based on the correction data and, meanwhile, develops the corrected font data on the RAM 24. In this case, the CPU 21 develops the dot image of characters and symbols on the RAM 24 based on the basic outline data, thereafter correcting the basic font data developed on the RAM 24 by referring to the correction data. |
