Display appts. comprises; a light transmitting electro-optic ceramic plate; a polarising plate on one side; a polarising film and reflecting film on the other side; a voltage head with electrodes for applying a voltage across the first surface of the produced double refraction which is seen through as an image; a head driver for moving the voltage head so as to scan the surface of; and a control for controlling the head driver and the applied voltage.
