HYBRID PROTEIN C AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To produce a hybrid protein C by a genetic engineering technique by using a DNA coding a hybrid protein C having an amino acid sequence corresponding to an amino acid sequence containing the gla domain (a domain containing gamma-carboxylated glutamic acid residue) of human protein C and substituted with a specific amino acid sequence. CONSTITUTION:An expression vector is formed by integrating an expression promoter into a DNA coding a hybrid protein C having an amino acid sequence corresponding to an amino acid sequence containing the gla domain of human protein C and substituted with the gla domain of bovine protein C or a segment having the same effect. The expression vector is used for the transformation of a host cell such as eucaryotic cell which can be modified e.g., by glycosylation, gamma-carboxylation or beta-hydroxylation of protein after translation. The objective hybrid protein C can be produced by culturing the transformant.
