PURPOSE:To generate ozone efficiently excluding unnecessary conduction of a high voltage generator and contrive electric power saving by a method wherein the conduction of the high voltage generator is controlled by a signal in accordance with the detected concentration of ozone in a refrigerator to generate ozone. CONSTITUTION:An ozone generating unit 36 is arranged near the outlet port 35 of a ventilating passage 16 communicated with a refrigerating chamber 9 from a fan 14 in the refrigerator. A controller 44 is constituted of an ozone concentration judging means 45, judging the concentration of ozone by a signal from an ozone detecting means 43 detecting the ozone in the refrigerator, and a high voltage generating and driving means 46, controlling the conduction of the high voltage generator of an ozone generating unit 36 based on the concentration judged by the judging means 45. The high voltage generating and driving means 46 is driven only when the concentration, judged by the ozone concentration judging means 45, is reduced to a value lower than a predetermined value. According to this method, unnecessary conduction of the ozone generator may be excluded and ozone may be generated efficiently. |
