Perforating line, preferably for use as a transverse cutter for continuous form webs, being composed of a blade (1) made of hardened and tempered steel in strip form which has, on one longitudinal side of the blade, at least one ground chamfer (2) and, on the lateral edges bearing the chamfer (2), perforating teeth (3) which extend alongside one another, preferably at equal intervals, perpendicularly to the axis of the blade, are formed by ground-in slots (4) and are designed to be at intervals which are sufficiently small and to be of such a height that the perforations made in the sheets are sufficiently fine to result, after separation of the sheets, in a sheet edge which has the appearance of a cut edge, and the steel in strip form has a hardness of 54 to 56 Rockwell. <IMAGE>
