<p>Undesired organisms, including insects, mites and fungi, may be combatted by application of a composition which comprises a carbohydrate, protein or glycoprotein, or a functionalised derivative of any of these, as an active ingredient. Examples of materials which have been found to have relevant activity are sucrose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, starch and dextrinised starch. Examples of undesired organisms which have been found to be affected are whiteflies, thrips, red spider mites, cucumber powdery mildew and oat powdery mildew.</p> |
