Oil cooler which comprises a casing in which a coolant medium, such as water, flows, and a set of elements housed in the said casing, which is composed of a certain number of hollow flat elements which are superposed and separated by gaps, through which the oil to be cooled is passed, characterised in that the said oil collector or collectors (manifold or manifolds) 41, 46 have on a part of their axial extension guide elements 60, 61 which are formed and/or directed such that the oil arriving through the collector (manifold) 41 at least partially reaches first the end region transversely adjacent to the flat elements 18, whilst the oil flowing from the flat elements 18 is directed, at least partially, to the end region transversely adjacent to the said hollow flat elements 18, and, from there, is directed towards the outlet collector (manifold) 46. <IMAGE>
