PURPOSE:To obtain superior sensitivity and shelf stability by incorporating a specific aromatic compound in a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic compound shown by a formula is incorporated in a thermal recording layer containing a leuco compound, an organic acid, such as a phenol compound, reacting with the leuco dye to produce a color, and a binder, As the aromatic compound as a color-forming accelerator is bis[2-(3-methylphenoxy)ethyl] terephthalate and 96-98 deg.C in melting point. The aromatic compound is preferably incorporated in the amount of 1-50wt.% per all the solid content of the thermal recording layer from the standpoint of a color-forming accelerating effect. It is beneficial for a color-forming efficiency that the respective constituents are atomized as fine as possible ; thus, an atomization to 0.5-3mum in particle diameter is preferable. The heat-sensitive coating material prepared in the above manner is applied on a substrate and dried to obtain a thermal recording material. |
