<p>A firearm in the widest sense of the term, with small, medium and large calibers, is disclosed. An almost rectilinear transport of case cartridges (3) and caseless ammunition is ensured from a transport drum (7) to a chamber (5) possibly integrated within the barrel, as well as the separation of the stocked ammunition from the shot ammunition, which is particularly necessary in the case of caseless ammunition. The transport drum (7) has one or several recesses (8) on or within the circumference for receiving cartridges (3). The cartridges (3) are supplied from a magazine (2) or cartridge belt (43) to the transport drum (7), then moved to a position behind the chamber (5), pushed forward within the chamber (5) and shot by a breech (19). Improved cooling is obtained by the transport drum (7) moving behind the chamber (5), thus avoiding spontaneous detonation. The cartridges may be supplied from one or several magazines (2), cartridge belts (43) or both; several fastenable barrels (35) may be provided, and at least one rotatable magazine (2) or fixed magazine (2) may be secured to at least two spots on the housing (4).</p> |
