Conventional drilling hammers can indeed be used for drilling and percussive drilling, but not for chiselling. Until now, cumbersome chiselling attachments have been used for this purpose. The aim was therefore to obtain a drilling hammer in which the rotary drive could be switched off and stopped as desired. The drilling hammer (1) has an axially mobile intermediate shaft (17), the toothing (19) of which can be disengaged in order to stop the rotary motion. In order to secure the tool (7) to remain fixed during rotation, the intermediate shaft (17) can also be engaged, together with its longitudinal toothing (20), into the toothing (21) lodged in the housing. All operations can be switched on by means of a single lever, which engages on the projection (24). The drilling hammer is suitable for all drilling, percussion and chiselling operations in both the private and industrial sectors.
