<p>PURPOSE:To desulfurize efficiently by a method wherein a sulfur oxide- containing exhaust gas is cooled to a temperature slightly higher than the sulfuric acid dew point, and then cooled to the sulfuric acid dew point by injecting the mixture of ammonia and cooled air so as to fix sulfur as ammonium sulfate. CONSTITUTION:An SOx-containing exhaust gas 12 from a burning furnace is led to a heat-exchanger 3, brought to contact with an air 13 for cooling through a heat transmitting pipe so as to cool to the temperature slightly higher than the sulfuric acid dew point. A mixture of ammonia 14 supplied from injection pipe 9 and air 13 for cooling is joined to the exhaust gas so as to cool the exhaust gas further to the sulfuric acid dew point, and SO3 in the exhaust gas is transformed into ammonium sulfate. The ammonium sulfate is mixed with a fly ash from a fly ash-throwing apparatus 11 to increase the grain diameter and at the same time dehumidified to become dried grains, and after the mixture of ammonium sulfate and fly ash is removed by a bag filter 5 in the down stream, the resulting gas is discharged to air as a processed gas 16.</p> |
