PURPOSE:To obtain the image of the title material with reference quality by using a silver halide particle having a prescribed aspect ratio for the photosensitive material, and by incorporating a prescribed amount of a specified benzene compd. in the emulsion layer and/or the another hydrophilic colloid layer contd. in the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises AgI having <=3.5mol.% of iodine, and has the projected area diameter of a tabular emulsion of 0.5-1.2mum, the thickness of a particle of 0.1-0.25mum and the aspect ratio of the particle of >=3, preferably 5-8. The benzene compd. substituted with a polyhydroxyl group is incorporated in the emulsion layer and/or the another hydrophilic colloid layer in an amount of (3-10<-2>):(5-10<-1>)mols per 1mol. of Ag. Thus, the photosensitive material has a reduced refractive index in a blackened image silver part after X ray photography, and the image of the photosensitive material with the reference quality is obtd.
