DPCM (differential pulse code modulation) coder for multi-dimensional prediction

In this DPCM (differential pulse code modulation) coder, estimated components Sa and Sz are calculated separately and are subtracted separately from the same digitised sample value in two subtractors connected upstream of a quantiser. By this means, compared with conventional DPCM-coders, a calculation time saving for one addition results. In the circuit arrangement, a limiting of the reconstructed sample values can be carried out.
