PURPOSE:To improve a contraction and lead-in effect in recording and reproduction by forming the side planes at both sides of a projecting part where each magnetic gap of two ferrite blocks is formed as oblique planes to make a specific angle for the magnetic gap, and forming the part of the butting plane of the two ferrite blocks in wave shape or chevron shape. CONSTITUTION:A core for a magnetic head is formed in such a way that the both side planes 34 of the projecting part where each magnetic gap of the two ferrite blocks 20A and 20B is formed are formed as the oblique planes making the angle of (25-75 deg.) for the magnetic gap 40, respectively. And the part of the butting plane of the two ferrite blocks 20A and 20B which form a track width regulating gap 42 on which no actual recording function is attached is formed in the wave shape or the chevron shape. Thereby, it is possible to obtain a satisfactory contraction and lead-in effect compared with an on-going core for a mass-production magnetic head in which a groove working is performed on the track width regulating gap 42 by a grinding stone as keeping superior productivity or mass productivity, and also, to improve an off-track characteristic effectively based on a fringing effect. |
