PURPOSE:To produce a sheet metal in which cubic texture is greatly developed and which has superior magnetic properties by forming a molten Fe-Ni alloy into a thin slab of a specific thickness by a direct casting method and subjecting the above to direct cold rolling at a specific draft and then to finish annealing. CONSTITUTION:A molten-Fe-Ni alloy having a composition regulated to the prescribed composition is directly formed into a sheet metal direct of 0.1-20mm thickness by a double roll-type sheet metal direct casting method, etc., which is directly cold-rolled at >=50% draft without being h9ot-rolled, followed by finish annealing consisting of heat treatment in hydrogen. By this method, the Fe-Ni sheet metal excellent in magnetic properties, such as maximum permeability and magnetic flux density, can be obtained without causing deterioration in yield and productivity. |
