The paper machine has two Fourdrinier wires for the dewatering of each fibrous web. The two fibrous webs are combined in a twin-wire section formed by the wires. In the twin-wire section there is a device for pressing the fibrous webs onto each other. This has a wedge-shaped gap bounded by planar guiding surfaces, in which gap the fibrous webs are united at an adjustable pressure.
