PURPOSE:To stably form a cast strip having uniform width by restraining vibration at meniscus of molten metal poured at roll gap and widening to roll shaft direction with generated magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:The space is opened in a magnet body 1 and a nozzle 16 for pouring the molten metal into the roll gap is set. Successively, the molten metal,7 is poured into the roll gap through the nozzle 6. By this method, the molten metal 7 forms the meniscus 8 and is flowed as becoming irregular flow to the roll shaft direction, too and solidified and rolled to form the strip 9 and separated from the rolls. By moving the molten metal 7 in the magnetic field having high magnetic flux density under some velocity, electromagnetic force is received to reverse direction to the movement direction, to restrain movement of the molten metal 7. By this method, the vibration at the meniscus 8 and flowing to the roll shaft direction are restrained at between ferromagnetism 3a, 3b having higher than the magnetic flux density and the cast strip having uniform width can be formed. |
