PURPOSE:To obtain a variety of outputs from a printer by providing a means specifying the color of developer and a means inhibiting a print of an image in a specified color from being outputted on a console panel. CONSTITUTION:Through the operation of a lever, the magnetic pole N1 of a magnet roller 43 faces a photosensitive drum 1, while a magnetic pole N3 retreats from a bristle height regulating material 4a. In that condition, toner attaches to the drum 1 from a developing device 4. Through the operation of the lever, the magnetic pole N3 faces a member 49 and the inbetween of the magnetic pole N1 and a magnetic pole S1 face other in a part opposite to the drum 1. Then, the toner does not attach to the drum 1 from the device 4. Plural developing devices of the above-mentioned type are mounted, switched and driven in timed relationship to prescribed image forming areas according to signals from a host device, whereby an image in a set color is printed as it is, or an image in a specified color is not printed out.
