The invention relates to a method for carrying out an electro-dipping process, in which the ultrafiltrate is passed, in its entirety or in part, to a rinse tank, and the liquid of the rinse tank is passed to a reverse-osmosis installation, the osmosis concentrate produced being both passed to the rinse tank and being rejected, whereas the reverse-osmosis permeate is used for rinsing the substrates.
