The invention relates to the addition to the conventional auditory apparatuses, composed of a microphone 1, possibly a preamplifier 2, an amplifier 4 and an earpiece or transducer 5, of a frequency equalizer 3 in the amplification chain, preferably between the preamplifier and the amplifier. The equalizer will be adjusted as a function of the auditory characteristics of each subject, this adjustment being able to vary over time so as to follow the changes in these characteristics. <IMAGE>
