PURPOSE:To obtain a skin cosmetic having excellent stability with time, comprising modified superoxide dismutase prepared by bonding a polysaccharide to manganese type superoxide dismutase produced by a bacterium and a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol as essential components. CONSTITUTION:A skin cosmetic which comprises (A) 0.00001-0.1wt.% (calculated as an amount of enzyme) modified superoxide dismutase prepared by bonding a polysaccharide to manganese type superoxide dismutase produced by a bacterium (preferably Bacillus stearothermophilus) and (B) a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol (e.g., ethylene glycol or glycerol) and has improved stability with time and adaptability to skin. The content of the component B is 50-5,000times as much as enzyme in the component A. Dextran having 60,000-90,000 molecular weight is especially preferable as the polysaccharide. The cosmetic has preventing action on drying of skin and aging without causing chapped skin. |
