PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the leakage of reaction gas almost perfectly by filling fine particles at the ends of porous electrodes, and making the surfaces into sealed structure covered with metallic foils. CONSTITUTION:On both sides of a molten carbonate electrolyte layer 1, a pair of porous electrodes 2 and 2' are arranged, and unit cells of the same form of electrolyte layer 1 and the porous electrodes 2 and 2' (that is, the form to hold the cell surface of the electrolyte layer 1 with electrodes 2 and 2') are superposed plurally through conductive separators 3 with gas feeding routes crossing square each other at both surfaces, to compose a molten carbonate fuel cell, and at both ends of the porous electrodes 2 and 2', fine particles 4 are filled. After that, on the surfaces of the electrode ends 7 and 7', metallic foils 5 and 5' are pressed and contacted to form end seals. Therefore, since the pores of the electrodes are filled with fine particles and the surfaces are covered with metallic foils, the sealing property is improved remarkably. |
