PURPOSE:To enable a user to sensuously know the depth of field and to decrease the factors to depend on the user's experience and perception by displaying the depth of field by the new concept of the depth of field feel having no dimensions of distance. CONSTITUTION:The depth of field feel Df is the value defined by Df=l/d when the depth of field is designated as l and the subject distance as D. The small value of this feel indicates that the out-of-focus image before and after the subject is large and that the degree of pan-focus increases. The magnitude of the depth of field feel Df is displayed by providing about 7-11 pieces of display segments and lighting any thereof. If, for example, the display segments 11 are 9 pieces, pictograms 12, 13 of the image of the deep depth of field and the image of the shallow depth of field are disposed on both ends of the array of the display segments and the left side is indicated by the pictogram 12 of the shallow depth of field and the right side by the pictogram 13 of the deep depth of field. The depth of field is thereby displayed more adaptably to the human sensation. |
