摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the scratch resistance and dubbing resistance by specifying the distribution of the heights of surface protrusions and the crystalline index according to total reflection Raman spectroscopy of the film surface in specified ranges by using WO3 particles of a mean particle diameter in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:This biaxially oriented film is based on a composition comprising a polyester (one mainly consisting of ethylene terephthalate units is particularly desirable) and WO3 particles, wherein the mean particle diameter of said WO3 particles in the film is 0.1-0.6mum, the crystalline index according to total reflection Raman spectroscopy of at least either surface of the film is 14cm<-1> or above, preferably, 16cm<-1> or above, and the standard deviation of the distribution of the surface protrusions is 30-200nm, preferably, 50-120nm. This film is scarcely scratched even when it runs at a high speed, does not suffer any decrease in image quality even after dubbing and is particularly useful for videotaping.
