PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a welding mistake by providing the image processing device detecting the relative distance between a weld line and laser beam radiating position and arranging the deciding circuit to judge as to whether the relative distance is within a reference allowable range or not. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup device 8 picking up the work part of the bodies 5, 6 to be worked is provided and also the image processing device 10 detecting the relative distance between a welding position and radiation position of a laser beam 2 from the video signal thereof is arranged. The decid ing circuit 11 connected to the device 10 and an alarm circuit 12 are respectively arranged. A working movement is performed without any laser beam radiation prior to performing an actual welding to detect the relative distance between a weld line and beam radiation position by the device 10 from the video of the device 8 and whether the relative distance is within an allowable range or not is judged by a deciding circuit 11. The generation of a welding mistake can surely be prevented because the deviation, etc., of the beam center position can be detected prior to welding. |
