PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of flash at the parting line of a mold by a method wherein a first foam is formed under the state that the upper part of the cavity above the parting line is left as a space unoccupied by the form by pouring liquid first foamed plastic as stock and, after that, liquid second foamed plastic as stock are poured in said space left unoccupied above the cavity. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, the predetermined amount of liquid first foamed plastic as stock 26 such as raw polyurethane foamed material or the like is poured from the inlet 24 of split molds 20 in a cavity 22 so as to foam-mold a first foam 28, the top surface of which locates beyond the parting line 30 of the molds 20. Liquid second foamed plastic as stock 34, which is the same as or different from the stock 26 depending upon the physical properties of a required foam-molded item, is poured in the upper space of the cavity, which is left unoccupied above the foam 28, and, after that, the inlet 24 is closed. The point of time for pouring is after some degree of curing of the foam 28 by heating, when the stock 26 is of hot cure type, or after the stock 26 reaches its most expanded state, when the stock 26 is of cold cure type. |
