PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for switching a high voltage and to simplify a construction for a low cost, by a method wherein, a stress to press an ink to the side of an ink jetting port is generated by an electrostatic field between a control electrode and a recording electrode, and the stress is superimposed on an electrostatic force by an electrostatic field between the ink and an opposing electrode. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of an ink jetting port 4a, a control electrode 7 and a recording electrode 5 form a pair of parallel plates, and the liquid surface of an ink exists between both the electrodes 7, 5. At this time, a control voltage pulse is applied to the control electrode 7 to establish an electric potential difference V from the recording electrode 5, whereby the ink moves toward the ink jetting port 4a by an electric field between both the electrodes 7, 5. A stress fn is generated by a voltage application to the control electrode 7, and by this stress fn the ink is pressed to the front surface of the ink jetting port 4a. At this time, if a voltage is applied between the recording electrode 5 and an opposing electrode 9, an electrostatic field acting between these electrodes causes the ink to be jetted out from the ink jetting port 4a to fly to the side of the opposing electrode 9. |
