PURPOSE:To enhance CO purity by treating gas containing CO in the processes of temperature rise, adsorption, pressure reduction, washing and desorption respectively, dividing the desorption process into a preliminary desorption process and a longer main desorption process to recover CO and overlapping the main desorption process in two adsorption columns. CONSTITUTION:Raw material gas containing CO is pressurized by a compressor 10 and fed to an adsorption column A for carrying out the temperature rise process, and then CO is adsorbed by an adsorbent to which a Cu component is annexed and non-adsorbent components such as N2 and the like are discharged from a tube 2 into the outer air. The adsorption column A is connected with an adsorption column B, reduced in pressure and washed with CO gas from a product gas storage tank 6. After that, the pressure of the same is reduced by a small vacuum pump 70 down to atmospheric pressure or lower, followed by preliminary desorption, and its pressure is further reduced by a vacuum pump 50 for a time longer than the preliminary desorption. Then, water desorption process is carried out and the desorption gas is recovered as product gas. The main desorption process is partially overlapped in the beginning process in a adsorption column D and in the final stage in an adsorption column C. |
