PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of rattling and facilitate a machining property by setting an outside rail main body portion on a cradle and, while pressing this portion from above by means of a pressing member, several time reciprocating an inside rail main body portion which is in a free condition and carrying out assembly in the final finishing process. CONSTITUTION:By inverting the upper and lower relation of a lower rail 1 and all upper rail 3, an inner-side rail main body portion in which a general portion 17 is projected out of an opening 14 is made a free condition, while an outer side rail main body portion having a box shaped section is set on the cradle 40 of a correcting running-in device 44. Then, while pressing the rail main body portion of the lower rail 1 from above with a pressing member 41, the inner-side rail main body portion, i.e., the upper rail 3 is longitudinally reciprocated several times by means of piston rods 45 provided in front and in rear of the cradle 40 to carry out correcting running in. In this case, shallowly recessed guide grooves P which continue in the longitudinal direction are formed on outside and inside guides 19, 9 by means of ball type rolling elements 23 while the outside guide 19 and a horizontal portion 5 on which roller type rolling elements come in contact are flatly leveled. |
