PURPOSE:To make variable a set pressure for pressure release so as to keep the range of pressure increase always in the same extent until the pressure during sodium and water reaction is released by connecting to a piping system a plurality of breakage plates arranged in parallel and through respective opening and closing valves for which breakage set pressures are different. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of breakage plates 14 for release to the atmosphere are arranged in parallel, those plates having set breakage pressures which are different stepwise. These breakage plates 14 are respectively provided with a switching valve 13. For a gas pressure P2 in a receiving vessel 9 a breakage plate 14 for release to the atmosphere which has a set breakage pressure that is larger than the pressure P2 by P2 is selected and the switching valve 13 for the plate 14 is left open and other switching valves 13 are closed. When the range of pressure rise in a steam generator 5 exceeds the set breakage pressure of a breakage plate specified for the steam generator, the breakage plate 8 breaks to release the pressure there into the receiving vessel 9. Next, the valve 13 is opened and the selected breakage plate 14 for release to the atmosphere breaks. If a breakage plate 14 is selected so as to be broken by opening the valve 13 in response to the pressure in the steam generator 5, it is possible to control the range of pressure increase in the steam generator, etc., daring sodium and water reaction to substantially the same extent without depending on the state of operation of a plant. |
