Substituted pyrimidines of the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R is alkyl, their acid addition salts, and their use in pesticides. Formula (I) provides a definition of the novel substituted pyrimidines, which can be prepared by analogous processes, for example from suitable pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acids and pyrazole.
