PURPOSE:To prevent other devices from being influenced by an error and to allow a diagnostic processor to retry access to a main storage under the effective state of diagnosis of other devices by providing the title diagnostic processor with a request control means, a reply control means and so on. CONSTITUTION:When a main storage access instruction is outputted from a system diagnostic control part 101 to a request control part at the time of diagnosis of abnormality, the control part 102 outputs a main storage access request. Then, an error detector 106 detects whether an error is generated in the internal state of the control part 102 or not, and when an error is detected, an error reply is sent to an error reply control part 103 through an AND gate 109 and the control part 103 informs the error reply to the control part 101. Then, the control part 101 diagnoses the control parts 102, 103. Then, the control part 101 initializes the control parts 102, 103. Even if a fault is generated in the control part 102 when the diagnostic processor 1 accesses the main storage, main storage access can be retried without exerting the influence of the fault upon other devices. |
